When I joined my current employer, they had just installed Paycom. I say installed rather than implemented because they only dumped in the very basic information. We have over 700 employees and the "implementation" amounted to name, rank and serial number. Wait, scratch the serial number. The employee codes were alphanumeric including letters O and I?

The representatives appear to be very young and the developers have very limited HR knowledge. Many of the functions do not take into consideration how an HR person would use them. Some functions do not interact with others and some just don't exist. There is no leave of absence management function, only FMLA. OSHA and Unemployment cases cannot be closed.

The ATS function is completely worthless, and poorly developed. It takes too many clicks to move a person forward in the hiring process, and the interview groups required are painful and not conducive to very large groups with many people involved in interviews.

On a positive note, they develop new features often, but better planning on the front end, would reduce the need to have monthly updates, but quarterly ones.

If you choose Paycom, make sure you have at least one person on your team that can focus on implementation. This is a VERY labor intensive process.

Yes Paycom is fairly new to the market. They have been around about 20 years.

You would think since they were new that they would have taken the best items from the other payroll services and put them into their. Trust me; they did not copy the best of anything. It is truly amazing what this payroll company cannot do in 2016. Also if you call your Payroll Specialist and ask a question they put you on hold every time.

If this is your daily job shouldn’t you be able to answers at least one item of the top of your head?

My Company switched to paycom about three years ago and it seems when I check my paycom check stubs and check detail they often do not match with my timecard submissions. Also there are on many occasions where there are mistakes that show as minus entries and then corrected in the next line.

I can’t be sure but I think something is squarely about there accounting practices. I can not seem to verify my earnings with paycoms check detail accounting practices mistakes that show as minus entries

Paycom works for us

We switched from ADP back in August (they still haven't realized it yet??) and couldn't be happier that we did. The centralized data base is great! The response from sales and operations has been excellent. We are very happy with their product and their service. My staff created an error that looked to have us miss our 'payday'. I made a call to my sales rep at 6:30 at night and not only did he call me right back, he called operations and fixed the issue for us. Mind you, this 'issue' was all of our making! not Paycom's!

Paycom Rocks!

I've used Paycom for the past 8 years. It was previously installed at the first company I was with, then at my past two employers, I (as HR Director) had it installed based on my past experience. Customer service is awesome. My sales people were awesome. The software is awesome. I've NEVER had a problem with anything. (I'm VERY surprised at any negative reviews.) I love the product -- it gives me everything I need as an HR professional. I am in the system literally 90% of my day. It is a bit pricey and they charge extra for all the other portals, but you get what you pay for. Reports are awesome. My employees find the system super easy to navigate. They can access it anywhere they have a computer or smart phone. Supervisors love the system for reviewing, correcting and approving timecards. It does a great job tracking paid time off. Payroll is always spot on. I can't say enough good things about it.

This company should be shut down. Every time they do a "update" saved information is lost.

ACA is not compliant. Trouble saving Data, and losing data. Sales representative will abandon you and refer you to a call center after they get your money. I have worked with companies of all sizes and have never seen such an unreliable company, unethical, rude and take no responsibility for their products.

Will not provide ANY support. Calls were even made to corporate management numerous times with no return call.

I am currently a client of Paycom. I strongly recommend you learn and fully understand ACA for yourself.

I have been going back and forth with them for weeks on the 1095's. they will not even fully populate, and what does populate is far from correct. We paid for the Enhanced ACA. They told me that the ACA team have reviewed our accounts and everything looked good.

Well, it wasn't even close to "good" and you only get silence when you ask them how they possibly could have actually reviewed anything and said it was all good when I have just shown them how messed up it is. Enhanced ACA has been a total waste of money for us. The data produced is wrong.

I am thankful I put myself through ACA training.

I feel for any company who is just relying on Paycom for their 1095's. Paycom makes very sure that what you sign relieves them of any liability. if you trust how they complete your 1095's be prepared to be left with any penalties for incorrect filings. I hate to think the state we would be in right now if the deadlines had not been extended this year.

Paycom's system does not work properly and as of today they can't seem to get it fixed.

I have already begun setting appointments with other vendors. This ridiculous mess with the ACA reporting was the icing on the cake to the long list of issues we have had with Paycom since day one. We are making a change.

I only lasted this long because of all the money we spent on implementations fees to get set up with them.

In summary, with ACA reporting or anything else to do with payroll, accruals, etc, it is in your best interest to fully understand how to do it all yourself so that you can continually correct the mess.

We do much of our work manually because Paycom's output cannot be trusted. And then they don't accept responsibility or liability for their actions.

Did you have benefits administration with Paycom? My understanding is that if you do it is supposed to calculate it for you...if you don't you are SOL.

That is correct to a point. We have benefits admin.

However there are so many bugs in the ACA system that it is still producing incorrect 1095's. new issues just arose yesterday (1/26) and I was told by our rep that I was the second of her clients to contact her about the issue. The system suddenly just randomly switched all the 1095 codes from what should have been 2H to 2C. 2H means the person declined our coverage.

2C means they took it. It clearly shows in the system that they declined the coverage but for some unknown reason, on the backend it suddenly shows as though they also took coverage. Doesn't even make any sense.

2 days left now to approve the final 1095's and they are still trying to figure out and fix the problem. So they will complete your forms but there is a very good chance they will be incorrect.

Problems with payment

I have had a horrendous experience with Paycom. Dan Zaffos and Shelly Balew make promised they have no intention of keeping.

They charge us for services we do not receive.

This has been a nightmare and if you are considering using Paycom I would RUN in the opposite direction.

An additional benefit to the system is that it works for you, giving our users several ways to set preferences so the system is the same each time someone logs in. Our solution also gives users the ability to save information on a page and return to it at a later date to finish. We do want to make note that employee changes can be done in payroll transactions and we have made a number of enhancements to our platform. Our support staff goes through extensive training to ensure they are knowledgeable on all areas of the Paycom system.

This is the most infuriating company I have ever worked with. I never thought that I would want to go back to ADP.

The software is garbage. I practically have to trick it to get it to pay people correctly. They have idiotic support staff that do not have even a basic understanding of payroll law. The can't calculate our 401k match properly so I have to do it manually ever single payroll.

You can't make a change to an employee after creating your payroll grid or it won't go through. If you need to make one little change you have to reject the entire payroll and start all over again.

It will also cost a lot more than they quote you.

Poor customer service

I have never experienced a salesperson anything like the one from Paycom. Squeaky voiced individual who thought that she could into the company, bat her eyelashes and have everyone bow down to her and jump at the pricing and product that she offered.

Only would answer certain questions but avoided others. Outrageous pricing. Would not provide references. When the heat was turned up she withdrew her offer.

Very, very unprofessional individual. Don't put yourself through the aggravation!

The salesperson also spoke negatively about other payroll companies in the area instead of beefing up what Paycom had to offer. After all is said and done I'm very glad that our company did not use their services.

However, in the event one forgets to do so, the system will automatically log you out after a certain period of time. This site wont even update front end user if the session has been terminated at the server. And you continue to work for hours and hours then boom. Nothing persists. It just blames that session has been expired. Is it a concrete HR portal? I dont think they use their own application for their own employees.

If you forget to signout and leave your laptop, there is every possibility that others can peep into your details in HR portal.

I just wish to see the architect who approved this design.

and I pity my HR and admin can't test this application before considering switching to them. Of course they are not software guys.

Hopefully I can be more rude with Paycom.

Customer service is amazing

We had been a customer of ADP for approximately 20 years, and I personally processed payroll with them for 12 years. We decided to switch to Paycom due to cost, ease of use and reporting versatility. Paycom included everything we need to process payroll accurately and to be compliant with the ACA regulations. The customer service with Paycom has been amazing. The fact that they are here to help with the first few payroll processing is awesome! Thank you so much for this opportunity to be a satisfied client of your company. I would recommend Paycom to anyone!
