Paycom in Alpharetta, Georgia - Very poor customer service

We appreciate you reaching out to us and would like to clarify that Paycom is not a 401(k) provider or broker. We offer benefits administration to allocate funds to go towards an employee’s 401(k). You will need to reach out directly to your new 401(k) provider to get the necessary documentation to transfer your 401(k). We recommend you reach out to your HR/payroll team or 401(k) provider directly for additional information.

Cons
  • Very poor customer service from receptionist
Reason of review
Poor customer service
Preferred solution
Speak with Paycom representative that can give me details on how to transfer my 401k

Update by user Aug 30, 2018

I spoke a receptionist named Holly that I called at 4:15 central time at the number 800-580-4505, I do not have the last because she was uncomfortable giving me the information. I had an inquiry about how to transfer my 401k from my previous company to my new company.

She gave me very vague details that didn't make much sense and when I asked her for further details she stated "we don't handle that, its the responsiblity of the third party company." I asked to speak to another representative that might have additional details but after being placed on hold she said that the company doesn't handle this. I would like to speak to someone that can give me details about what information I need to get from my HR representative so that I can transfer my 401k.

Cons
  • Actual software
Reason of review
Damaged or defective

When I joined my current employer, they had just installed Paycom. I say installed rather than implemented because they only dumped in the very basic information. We have over 700 employees and the "implementation" amounted to name, rank and serial number. Wait, scratch the serial number. The employee codes were alphanumeric including letters O and I?

The representatives appear to be very young and the developers have very limited HR knowledge. Many of the functions do not take into consideration how an HR person would use them. Some functions do not interact with others and some just don't exist. There is no leave of absence management function, only FMLA. OSHA and Unemployment cases cannot be closed.

The ATS function is completely worthless, and poorly developed. It takes too many clicks to move a person forward in the hiring process, and the interview groups required are painful and not conducive to very large groups with many people involved in interviews.

On a positive note, they develop new features often, but better planning on the front end, would reduce the need to have monthly updates, but quarterly ones.

If you choose Paycom, make sure you have at least one person on your team that can focus on implementation. This is a VERY labor intensive process.

If you have any questions regarding the Paycom system and your hours worked, please contact your payroll/HR department. In addition, we also have training courses for our clients’ employees where we walk them through the Paycom system. If your employer has purchased and enabled Employee Self-Service, you can access these trainings at your convenience.
