Paycom is the worst payroll company I have ever dealt with. I've been doing payroll for 25 years and have never seen anything like this.

Our W2's had to be redone by Paycom because they had our State taxes all messed up. On April 7, 2017, we finally received our corrected W2's. Yes April 7th. It started from day one and continued until the last day.

We were only able to use their services for less than a year due to the amount of errors we had with them. We couldn't even run daily reports without some type of problem. We are a Michigan Based company with employees all over the U.S. and if anyone lived outside of Michigan, the taxes for the State/Local where the employee resides was incorrect as well.

We had absolutely no training on their payroll. They sold us an expensive payroll system that totally failed our company and created one of the biggest nightmares we have ever dealt with. Also when the holiday would fall on a Monday, which is when we sent our payroll to them, they would charge an extra 75.00 for the delivery of our payroll since it fell on the holiday even though Paycom was closed as well but they still charged 75.00 for a delivery due to the holiday.

We experienced so many issues we had to get a payroll system that actually did the taxes, deductions, etc., correctly and without any extra charges for deliveries. All I can say is if you are planning on using Paycom payroll Good Luck and God Bless.

We made the right choice with Paycom

Paycom - Benefits administration is amazing

Our company had been using paper forms for almost all HR, payroll and benefits processes. We have complex payroll processes and have several exceptions, therefore, we need a flexible system. Paycom was flexible regarding the order in which we needed to implement each feature. The difference in benefits administration is amazing. It is very easy to set up plans online and to include any related forms, documents and even notes for employees. Employees simply need to click on enroll or decline and enter dependent information. Anyone that is looking into this systems. Be warned.

Their technology from a power user perspective is poor at best. They over promise and under deliver on every aspect of their solution. I am embarrassed that I got reeled in by this solution. I had to micromanage the entire implementation and it still resulted in the worst implementation experience in my 20 year career doing payroll.

We paid a hefty implementation fee and they screwed up just about everything from 401k accruals to W2's for 2016. They don't provide quarterly reports for 6 weeks after the quarter. They don't provide cash requirements or Employer taxes prior to submission.

They take zero accountability for mistakes they make and they charge at least 3x more than their more superior competitors. The offer no concession to keep you as a customer.

They eventually agreed to amend the W2 and the filing. They are also refunding the cost of the convertor.

In our situation, we were promised many things by Paycom and even paid thousands for a payroll "convertor" which would convert our POS data to payroll upload which after a year has still not been delivered in a usable state.

We pay most of our employees commission and were told they could handle it. They couldn't. They aren't able to provide percentages and we had to change our commission rates to do a work-around, costing us close to $10,000 a year. Also, the sales dollars are getting counted as hours, so their paychecks never list their correct hours. . .

We we told they would be responsible for our payroll, don't worry. When they did the set-up for medical insurance they setup the owner using their "owner" setup. We told them numerous times it did not look like it was correct but they assured us it was. Then after year-end and our CPA review, we found it was not correct and we would have to get Paycom to redo all the tax forms and we would have to amend our corporate and private tax returns. Not only does Paycom want money to fix their error, they want a release because they "aren't responsible for payroll", they are "only and online payroll software provider".

On the good side, the staff are very nice. Unfortunately they are not given enough time or control to do the job right.

Paycom Made the Process Fun

We were extremely frustrated with our previous provider. Thinking about how little support we had with payroll or ACA would literally keep me up at night. The Paycom implementation process was incredibly smooth and we did not have any issues with our first Paycom payroll. Our representatives also made the process fun and not laborious, as they shouldered much of the heavy lifting. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Paycom. Co-founder/Business Owner

Let the company propose a solution

Our payroll has not been accurate since we switched 6-7 pays ago. We have problem after problem on taxes, vacation, etc.

Even time entry is a challenge. They over promised, under delivered. Charges are wrong, payroll is wrong, vacation accruals are wrong, reaching a rep is challenging and we have to cc everyone, including management, yet nothing gets resolved-ever. We feel that we complain, email, call, yet nothing gets corrected.

We have our fiscal team involved, HR involved and yet no matter how much we triple check, there are continuous errors and inaccuracies. Did I mention?

Over promised, under delivered. I cannot believe we switched to this system and would not recommend it to anyone.

Paycom - A User Friendly System

We made the decision to switch from another provider to Paycom in June. Paycom is a user-friendly system and is much faster and easier than our previous provider. I can now focus on other tasks and don’t have to worry about our payroll being messed up. I couldn’t be happier our president made the change to Paycom! Accounting Manager

Problems with payment

my company switched from a simple timeclock to paycom the worse experience ever we loose time logging into paycom everyday havent even got payed on my paydate it makes me want to quit my job that ive been at for 4 yrs

After that time, clients are transferred to their long-term support specialist. Please note that during the transition process, clients are asked to verify data to ensure accuracy. We were told we would be able to move off our PEO and the implementation timeline would be 6 weeks. 6 weeks AFTER our roll out date we still do not have a fully built system.

We spend numerous hours going over system specifications that we needed only to find out we had error due to duplicate ee' ID #'s which we made clear we had duplicates but were insured it wold not be an issue. There were many aspects we had the impression Paycom (after all the information we discussed and delivered to them) would be set up only to find out that half the configuration fell on our shoulders to complete. Multiple Direct Deposit issues on first payroll (hold you ee's responsible for setting up DD again, do not trust Paycom to import correctly! Bottom line if you go with Paycom give yourself AT LEAST 8 weeks to implement and hold them to strict deadlines.

Test everything BEFORE first payroll as reps asked me to wait and test it all out on our first payroll, and do not be afraid to escalte beyond your direct reps. FINALLY make sure you clearly ask what is not included in the base package.

They sell you thinking so many elements are included when really they are add ons. Implementation nightmare but ultimately better then our previous platform for employee ease of use.
