After a horrendous implementation process, months of mistakes, and terrible customer service we fired Paycom. While our horrible experience with Paycom resulted in losing more than $30,000, it was our only option, since the system was never going to work as promised by the salespeople.

Once we moved on from Paycom, we thought this whole nightmare was behind us. We were dead wrong. We received notification from the IRS that Paycom neglected to file our taxes for three quarters. When we contacted Paycom, their response was that they did know they were supposed to file our taxes--which is nonsense.

We were told that someone from the Tax Department would get in contact with us. It's been more than a month, and no one has contacted us, and our repeated calls have gone no where. We get a standard response that "they are working on it, and they will call us back."

Since no one will get back to us, and we don't know who to contact, I am posting this review in hopes that we can get the help we need to get our taxes filed.

Every time I try to login from home it never works!!! I have triple checked my password and username multiple time and still nothing.

I have had this problem at work many times as well. I will keep trying then EVENTUALLY it will log me in with the same information I have been using the entire time.

This site is such a headache and waist of time. I do not wan to reset my password because it is correct, and I will probably run into the same issue again. Complete bogus.

AND wow you have a MINIMUM of 100 words for you reviews.

Just another headache. Your site is a complete joke.

One of the things that I was sold on about paycom was the custom reporting. there are many aspects that are great.

However, I cant wrap my ahead around this one thing. There is a report that i need for a billiing purpose, rather than payroll. The Total Hours by Time Range report is perfect, except it has employee pay rates on it. That's it.

I need that report without the rates. My specialist says it cant be done. That doesnt make sense at all. If the report is there and if some reports can be customized, I cannot accept that this report cant be customized.

Once it is customized.... I remain hopeful that I can get this report.... then I need it to run by department every day and email it interested departments.

Theoretically, each department may have different contacts. Can that be done?

I did receive a follow-up call from Paycom. Unfortunately, it was too late; we had already terminated our services with Paycom.

Nevertheless, we recently received a notice from the IRS that Paycom failed to file our 941. Not sure how a payroll company could neglect to file a 941, as this is one of of their basic functions, but Paycom did.

It's unbelievable that a payroll company could be this terrible. I am left wondering how Paycom manages to stay in business...

Our company’s experience with Paycom has been nothing short of a nightmare. The implementation was a total failure, which resulted in more in more than 50 employees not getting paid or paid incorrectly on our first payroll. The problem was created by Paycom pulling inactive information from our existing payroll company, and loading the inactive information into Paycom. This created a situation where employees’ direct deposits went into the wrong accounts or closed accounts. The mistakes were not just limited to the direct deposits. Paycom managed to get most of our deductions (Section 125, 401(K), advances, etc.) wrong, as well.

We all hoped that once we got passed the implementation failure, the system would work as promised. Unfortunately, the implementation problems were just the tip of the iceberg. We encountered problems with most of Paycom’s products. The ACA software and support was a joke. With our previous payroll provider, ADP, getting the 1095s completed took about 10 minutes, with Paycom it two days.

Additionally, our implementation team couldn’t get our GL to work, and managed to make matters worse every time they tried to help. At this time, we are paying our accountant to get our GL fixed, but Paycom messed it up so badly, even our accountant has not been successful in getting the GL work.

The ultimate insult to injury was that Paycom underpaid our quarterly taxes by nearly $10,000. Like all of Paycom’s shortcomings, they never took responsibility for their mistake, but blamed ADP for the mistake—even though ADP wasn’t responsible for our taxes during that quarter.

Due to all of the issues we had with Paycom, we couldn’t even fire them, until we had these problems corrected. After six agonizing months, and more than $40,000 wasted, we were finally able to terminate our services with Paycom. Choosing Paycom was the biggest, and costliest, mistake our company has ever made.

Generally unhappy with my employer's choice to switch to Paycom in general. At first I thought it was just the adjustment pains of encountering a new way of doing things but that's just not the case.

The constant requirement of changing passwords is a COMPLETE nuisance and shows me that this company is not confident in their cybersecurity apparatus. The newest changes are extremely perplexing as it is INFINITELY harder for me to print a hard copy of my pay stub.

Provide experienced, knowledgable specialists who can properly configure the software to deliver a stable product.

Paycom's sales team is good. They spend time with you to find out exactly what you need and assure you every step of the way that they can deliver.

They were so good we believed them!

Unfortunately for us their database can not do what they claimed it would and even worse their implementation team barely knows their own product.

What should have been a 12 week implementation process is still in process six months later.

Be prepared to do your own implementation and to fix errors that are created by Paycom's implementation team. In the end you'll know more about their product then they do.

Called and they are working on reports.

Original review posted by user Jan 24, 2018

I am a CPA and used to refer my clients to Paycom. I also own their stock.

I have become increasingly frustrated with their reports and customer service. There is not a report that shows the payroll fees throughout the year. You must call them, request them to push reports and them manually add up the reports they push. This takes them time to do, last time I asked it took 2 days.

I have told many representatives their reports are lacking and the payroll fees shouldn't be that hard to find. I have used many different companies and will be referring others until they get this fixed.

Their reports system is also not user friendly. I love to support an Oklahoma company, but at this point, its not worth my efforts in the amount of lag time.

Paycom implemented "system enhancements" and took away the simple way we've been putting in our payroll for years. Seems as if some engineers wowed their bosses with a demo.

People that work there are quite nice, but still... I Hate, hate, hate it. We had previously inquired about using the online access portion of the service - the cost was exorbitant for simply giving employees a login, so we save payroll stubs to pdf and put them in dropbox for employees.

I'm finally making the time to search for an alternative - some of the cloud based accounting svcs offer everything integrated. Can't wait to dump paycom.

One of the worst decision I ever made. While they gave a great presentation what we were told and what we got don't line up.

They can't get things to work right and their advanced reports are far from advanced. What would take a few minutes to run now takes hours to complete. No timesaver using their platform.

I lost time because things that were automated I now have to do manually. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them.

Paycom was definitely the right choice

After several years of toying with the idea of switching payroll companies, I finally made the leap of faith. I spoke with several companies but finally settled on Paycom. My decision to switch to Paycom was definitely the right choice. The product and the people are worth making this decision. I highly recommend Paycom to anyone! Controller
