I believe this is my third negative review of Paycom; we used their services from November 2017-June 2018. My initial complaints were related to how badly they handled our implementation.

Our first payrolls were a complete nightmare, due to our implementation “specialist,” pulling old data from our previous payroll vendor. During the first several months using Paycom, we had to deal with an endless number of issues. We finally had to make the decision to cut our loses (more than $40,000), and terminate their services.

Despite losing a large some of money with Paycom, we were happy to move on to a competent payroll provider. Unfortunately, we started to receive letters from the IRS demanding money, because Paycom did not pay our taxes correctly.

The first bill was $10,000, which was due to an under payment. The second bill was for more $463,000, which was a result of Paycom not filing our taxes with the right form—not sure how a payroll company does this, but Paycom did. In addition, Paycom filed our quarterly taxes late. Lastly, we just received a letter from Social Security saying that the there is $30,000 discrepancy in what was reported to the IRS and Social Security.

Paycom’s incompetence is truly terrifying.

Choosing Paycom was the worst business decision we have ever made as an organization, and one that has negatively affected our business is so many ways. We are constantly in a state of anxiety as we wait for the next threatening letter to come from the IRS, due an error that Paycom made in filing our taxes.
